Summary:
During the Premier League season Peter Crouch has been reluctant to score. This seems to dazzle coach Harry Redknap. Although his finishing is not poor he has trouble finding the net. He only scored eight times in fourtynine appearances. This seems to only be a problem during the main season whereas in the Champions League he found the net five times so far. Coach Harry Redknap is not too concerned about Crouch not being called up by Fabio Capello for the international matches, even though Newcastle striker Andy Carroll might be a potential addition to the squad for Capello.
Reaction:
Although Crouch is an excellent striker I feel he plays evenly as good as a number ten. He could easily assist another striker and still make his contribution to the team. His height works in his favor as he is a potentially dangerous header, which makes sure that you can leave one tall defender back in its line.
As for the national squad I would recommend Cappelo to take Carroll to the next international games. Carroll has more pace and more speed, besides he is probably one of the most gifted youngsters on the English pitches right now.
