The IMF chief has stated that Ireland will be able to bounce back from this economic situation. Although this will go paired with some drastic measures. Many people might lose their job, because of the current crisis. Mr. Chopra stated that they would not be lending if the situation looked unsustainable. There has been made an agreement in which is stated that the national debt will not increase for the forthcoming three years. Mr Rehn seconds this by stating that the Irish are smart, stubborn people who will get over this challenge and that the EU is supporting them.
It is very difficult to say whether this crisis will take long and what kind of measures need to be taken in order to decrease the national debt and regain normal interest rates. Confidence has been running low over the past months and it will take a solid plan to make sure that Ireland will come out stronger. The Irish are lucky that the Euro trust fund has been made a couple of months ago, because now they can profit from this backup plan and make sure that their crisis will not go on for as long as one might suspect.
